I am truly honored to be a part of the Journal of Thoracic Disease’s journey. Since joining as an editorial board member this year and having the opportunity to publish in the journal, as well as being recognized as an outstanding author, I have witnessed firsthand the dedication and growth of JTD.

Seeing the recent impact factor of 2.3 for the 2025 citation year fills me with pride and optimism for the future. My wish is for JTD to continue fostering innovative research, supporting the thoracic community worldwide, and achieving new milestones together.

The Journal of Thoracic Disease has become one of the leading international platforms for disseminating high-quality research in thoracic diseases. I greatly appreciate its commitment to scientific excellence, rapid and rigorous peer review, and multidisciplinary collaboration. I am confident that JTD will continue to expand its global impact and contribute significantly to advancing thoracic surgery and respiratory medicine. It is a privilege to be part of this outstanding journal, and I look forward to supporting its continued success.

I have had the privilege of working with JTD since January 2017 as an author, reviewer, and Editorial Board member in the section of Cardiology. In this last decade, JTD has been an invaluable contributor to the fields of thoracic and cardiovascular disease, and fosters and an inclusive and organic environment for researchers worldwide. The journal has grown tremendously in this time span due in large part to academic support from our contributing authors and leadership of the journal’s editorial team.  I anticipate continued success for JTD which will undoubtedly impact our scientific communities in a positive and rewarding manner, and very much look forward to continue personally supporting.

I wish to congratulate JTD for receiving their latest impact factor of 2.3. I have had the pleasure and privilege of being closely involved in this excellent journal since the beginning, witnessing its growth, consistent academic rigor and inclusiveness over the years. The numerous supplements that I have guest edited have been well received by colleagues and expertly handled by the JTD editorial team. I have no doubt JTD will reach greater heights in the years and decades to come, and I look forward to continuing to support them.

It is a great honor and privilege to serve as a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Thoracic Disease. Over the years, I have witnessed the remarkable growth of the journal, reflected not only in its steadily increasing impact factor but, more importantly, in the consistent publication of high-quality, innovative, and clinically relevant research that has contributed to advancing the field of thoracic medicine. Serving as a reader, reviewer, and Editorial Board member has provided me with a unique opportunity to remain at the forefront of rapidly evolving scientific discoveries and clinical practice. I sincerely wish the Journal of Thoracic Disease continued success and even greater achievements in the years ahead. I am confident that the journal will continue to strengthen its global influence by publishing rigorous, impactful research and by serving as a trusted platform for researchers and clinicians dedicated to improving patient care.

As I have been enjoying the privilege of serving in the ALES editorial board in past and current years, I have consistently been impressed with the ALES leadership's integrity in upholding peer-review, valuing independence and adhering to guidelines. To ALES prospective authors I wish to suggest the following five concepts: accept uncertainty in building hypotheses; withstand the who-cares-test; power sample size; apply Orwell's writing rules; do justice to the literature.
